Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time according to Vivi....

Once upon a time there was a beautiful Princess named Dap. Dap had brown hair and wore a yellow crown. Her dress was pink and very pretty.
Princess Dap had a bag of gold that the sun fairy gave her. She used the gold to buy cookies for her and her cat Jinx. The cookies were yellow and soft. They were good.
Princess Dap took a donkey through the woods. She put dress-ups in the basket and carried them over a bridge on the way to Honey's house. The fairy was playing hide and go seek with Ann.
The King was going to Honey's house to watch cartoons. The frog, leprechaun, and Jinx were going to Nana's house to play ring around the rosie with Sofia. The Queen was making porridge for Honey.
Princess Dap's friend Datch was going to the castle to sit down on wood. Datch saw a hippopotamus, a rhino, a Christmas Tree and pictures.
Honey went through the hole in the wall to go see Grandad. The witch opened up the door after Honey.
Princess Dap decided to go to Honey's house again. She used the key to unlock the door. Princess Dap ate pasta, warm noonies, potatoes, eggs and toast in the house. She decided to go trick or treating. She saw Santa, the dragon, and everyone-even a lady. It was a stormy day with lightning so she went inside.
Datch is scary. He has green hair and a purple shirt. There was a present in the bag for Datch. Mommy gave it to him at the party. She gave him poopoo for a present. Datch went in the cave to play with the three bears.
Robin Hood went poopoo in the potty because he ate a lot of pasta. He sat on the big boy potty. Princess Dap was reading Datch's book while he was in the dining room eating. The mouse bumped his head on the chandelier.
Datch got married to Princess Dap. They ate cupcakes. Mommy gave Datch a diamond ring. Datch ate the mushrooms. They tasted like pasta.

spirit week

This week was SPIRIT WEEK at school. We missed "Wear Your Favorite Sports Jersey" day, which was probably a good thing because we would have had to send Vivi in her oversized purple Talbot County Free Library shirt. We also missed the memo about dressing in period garb for "Days Gone-by Day". Vivi however did proudly wear her beach hat that Lily gave her to support "Hat Day". According to her grandmother, who visited that day to read the kids stories, Vivi was one of the few who kept it on.
To cap off the week, Vivi proudly wore her flower pajamas, and angel slippers out of the house. When we got there, it looked like oatmeal cookie dough was in the works- with "dinosaur eggs" replacing the raisins.
Hopefully her spirit lasts through the weekend. Maybe tomorrow can be "Spa Day". We could take long leisurly baths, drink cocoa and relax...

last minute excursion to our capital

off to dc to see Ann...and Danny
as we passed by the White House I pointed out that is where President Obama lives. Vivi asked "mommy, can I live there someday?"

going through Ann's drawers at midnight looking for anything that might resemble a toy-
"mommy, is this a popsicle?"
No it's a tampon
"oh"- pulls out another plastic wrapped curiosity
"mommy is this a cheese stick?"
No, it's a tampon
